Stiftungskonzert II
This concert marks the end of an era. For although we hope that he will continue to play an active role with us in the future: As Artistic Director of our Festival, Laurence Cummings sits at the harpsichord for the last time – and leads you to emotional heights. Here he focuses on a very special opera production: Muzio Scevola. In 1721, three composers were commissioned to write one and the same opera production: Filippo Amadei took on the first act, Giovanni Battista Bononcini the second, and George Frideric Handel was responsible for the third. Using selected arias, Cummings will recount the love story between Muzio Scevola and Clelia.
