During the second half of May, Göttingen traditionally celebrates one of the most famous composers of all time: George Frideric Handel. Since 1920, the Festival has mesmerized its cross-generational audiences with thrilling performances – rooted in the city, rooted in the region, boasting international reach. The world's longest-standing Festival for Baroque music provides a stage for contemporary approaches as well as for historically informed performance practice, and uses customized formats to cater to children and youth.
